THE JCQ CARE ARCHIVE
ENGINEERING FOR LONGEVITY
You are holding more than a heavy premium cotton. A JCQ garment is an act of belief-designed in Germany to outlast trends and endure the noise. To preserve the structural integrity and signature “boxy” drape of your piece, follow the archive protocol below.
THE COLD CYCLE: 30°C / 86°F ONLY.
High heat is the enemy of density. Washing cold protects the 100% organic fibers fom shrinking and endsures the deep pigment of the fabric remains vibrand. Alway wash inside out.
THE GRAVITY RULE: AIR DRY. FLAT.
Never tumble dry. The weight of a heavy premium cotton when wet is significant; hanging it can cause the shoulders to stretch. Lay your garment flat on a clean towel to maintain its engineered silhouette.
THERMAL CARE: LOW IRON. INSIDE OUT.
If required, iron on a low setting. Always iron the garment inside out to protect the JCQ monogram and the external texture of the weave and garment.
PURE COMPOSITION: NO BLEACH. NO SOFTENER.
Harsh chemicals degrade heavy cotton over time. Avoid softeners to maintain the “crisp” premium hand-feel that defines a JCQ piece.
THE WEIGHT OF QUALITY
Traditional streetwear relies on thin fabrics that lose their shape after three washes. JCQ is different. Our heavyweight series is “overbuilt” be design.
Because of this density, the fabric doesn´t need to be washed after very wear. Often, simply airing the garment out is enough to refresh the fibers. By washing less, you contribute to the longevity of the garment and the health of the environment.
Pro Tip: Never use thin wire hangers. For storage, we recommend folding your pieces or using wide, padded hangers to support the heavy shoulder construction.
